The ordering system for ice cream parlours
Ice cream parlours run on volume and speed: on a hot summer day, throughput determines revenue. GastroSystem gives you the pricing logic for scoops and layers, a seasonal mode that deactivates the entire menu in winter, and a QR code ordering system that shortens the queue without adding staff.

How GastroSystem helps ice cream parlours
Scoop and layer pricing
Define your pricing steps: 1 scoop = €1.50, 2 scoops = €2.80, 3 scoops = €3.90. Waffle and cup as mandatory selection, topping as optional extra. The system calculates the price automatically. Cashiers select flavours and the right price appears — no manual calculation, no errors.
QR code ordering to shorten the queue
Guests scan the QR code at the entrance or outside the parlour, select their scoops and flavours in the app and pay directly. They receive a collection number and come forward when it's called. The queue shortens, throughput increases by up to 40%.
Seasonal flavours and time-limited specials
Create a 'Seasonal' category with flavours valid from a specific date to a specific date. Strawberry appears automatically from 1 May, pumpkin from 1 September, Christmas special from 1 December. Outside the season it disappears automatically — without a single manual action.
Seasonal mode for winter closure
Activate 'Winter closure' in the dashboard — the entire ordering system closes and guests see a message with the re-opening date. One click in spring reactivates everything. No need to deactivate products individually.
More throughput, more revenue
An ice cream parlour serving 200 guests/day at an average ticket of €3.50 turns over €700/day or approx. €42,000 per season. A 10% throughput increase through QR ordering at peak times generates €4,200 additional seasonal revenue — more than enough to offset 5 years of GastroSystem costs.

Common questions for ice cream parlours
Can I map graduated pricing by number of scoops?
Yes. You define a price step for each scoop count (1, 2, 3, 4+ scoops). Waffle or cup is a mandatory selection, toppings are optional extras. The cashier selects the number of scoops and flavours — the price is calculated automatically.
How do I close the system for winter?
In the dashboard under 'Opening hours' you activate 'Seasonal closure' with a start and end date. All ordering channels are closed during this period. Guests see a message with the re-opening date. One click in spring reactivates everything.
Can seasonal flavours disappear automatically?
Yes. Each item can have an availability period: available from [date] to [date]. Outside this window the item is automatically hidden. You set this up once, in spring — and strawberry disappears by itself in autumn.
