Automatic receipt printing — order in, ticket out
Every incoming order prints automatically on your receipt printer — no click, no delay. GastroSystem drives Epson TM-series receipt printers over ESC/POS: TM-T88, TM-T20, TM-m30, TM-T82 and the other models in the range, connected over the network, Bluetooth or USB. If you would rather not put a printer up at all, the same documents can be delivered as a PDF by email.
Supported printers and connections
GastroSystem talks to Epson TM-series receipt printers — TM-T88, TM-T20, TM-m30, TM-T82, TM-T70 and the other models in the range. A network printer is addressed by its IP and is reachable from every tablet in the building; a Bluetooth or USB printer belongs to exactly the tablet it is paired with. For a fixed kitchen printer the network is the steadier choice, Bluetooth is for mobile use. We do not drive other makes — an honest no beats a printer that goes silent mid-service.
Kitchen and counter tickets, configured apart
Tickets follow print rules. Per rule you decide which document prints, in how many copies, when it fires — on acceptance, when the order is ready, or by hand — which order types it covers and which product groups appear on it. Dishes from "Pizza" go to the kitchen printer, drinks to the bar, the customer receipt to the counter. No forwarding by hand, no walking between till and kitchen.
Every printer looks different
Layout belongs to the printer, not to the order: font size, logo, header and footer text, and the guest's phone number and address are set per printer. The kitchen ticket then runs in large type on a bare page while the same order comes out at the counter with your logo and the customer's details.
Paperless: a PDF instead of a ticket
A printer does not have to be made of paper. A printer of type email renders the same documents as a PDF and sends them to fixed recipients; the invoice can go to the guest as well. Every document produced stays findable in the archive — including one whose delivery failed, with the reason beside it. A receipt that never arrived is exactly the one you have to be able to find.

Once the till is booked, the customer receipt carries the required fields of the TSE signature: serial number, transaction number, start and end time, and the check value. You enter none of it, and no second piece of software sits beside it.
Frequently asked questions about receipt printers
Which printer do you recommend?
An Epson from the TM-T88 range on the network is the obvious choice for kitchen and counter; the TM-m30 is more compact and fits better behind a small counter. Other makes — Star, Citizen and generic ESC/POS devices — are not driven. If you already own a non-Epson printer, the paperless PDF route is still open to you.
Can I use Bluetooth printers?
Yes, with one limitation that follows from the thing itself: a Bluetooth or USB printer belongs to exactly the tablet it is paired with and cannot be reached from any other device. For mobile use that is fine; for a fixed kitchen printer the network is the better choice.
What happens if a ticket does not print?
The print job reports the error on the tablet that triggered it, and you reprint from there. The connection is retried a few times first, so a brief hiccup does not count as an outage. For paperless documents the failed attempt stays in the archive with its reason.
How do I connect the printer to GastroSystem?
Network printer: switch the device on, read the IP address off its self-test and enter it in the printer settings. Bluetooth and USB: pair the device with the tablet and select it there — that printer then belongs to that tablet. Then send a test ticket. The automatic print rules are driven by one tablet that you nominate as the master.
