The register at your counter, on the tablet you already own
Tap an item, take the money, print the receipt. The GastroSystem register runs on the same device as your orders, with the same menu and the same prices. Cash, card or both split, discounts and tips, free-form items and parked sales — plus a cash book that keeps pay-ins, pay-outs and counts straight, and a daily close that prints the Z-report.
Tap, don't type — a product grid with numbers and favourites
The register shows your menu as a grid: pick a category, tap an item, done. If you know the article numbers, type “400” into the search box and you hit the pizza straight away. Quantities go through the ×2 to ×10 multipliers instead of tapping the same tile ten times. It is the same menu as your online shop, so a price you change once applies at the counter, in the shop and on the receipt.
Eat in or take away — the cashier sets the VAT
One tap on “eat in” or “takeaway” sets the rate for the whole sale: 19 % for consumption on the premises, 7 % to go. The register does not guess it — it uses the tax category stored on the item, the same one your online orders are billed with. If an item is missing that category, the register says so at the top of the screen and takes you straight to the menu, filtered to exactly the items that need it.
Cash, card, or both at once
Cash with a change calculator and the usual notes as shortcuts, card on your own bank terminal, or split: part in cash, the rest on the card. A card read on the bank's own terminal is booked as a card payment and not as cash — a small distinction that decides whether your drawer balances at closing and whether card turnover shows up in the right line of your reports.
The cash book keeps itself
Float in is a pay-in, money handed to the drinks supplier is a pay-out, and a cash count records what was actually in the drawer. The expected balance carries over from previous days — what was left in last night is still expected this morning. If the count differs, the register asks for a reason before it books: § 146 AO wants the difference documented, not argued away.

How you ring up the first sale
Create or import your menu
The register shows the items already in the system. If you have no menu yet, upload it as a PDF or a photo — categories, prices and VAT rates are recognised and you only correct what is off.
Check the tax categories
For “eat in” and “takeaway” to actually move the VAT, every item needs a tax category. The register shows how many are missing one and takes you to the filtered list where you assign them in one go.
Book your float as a pay-in
Enter the amount you start the drawer with. From then on the expected balance includes it — and the evening count compares against a number that is right.
Ring up and close the day
Tap items, choose a payment method, print the receipt. In the evening you count the drawer, book the daily close and take the Z-report to your bookkeeping.

Do I need extra POS hardware?
No. The register runs in the browser on a tablet, laptop or PC and on a phone — on the device you already take orders on. For receipts you need a thermal printer connected over Bluetooth or the network; a cash drawer can be opened through the printer. A POS terminal on a leasing contract is not required.
How do I switch between 19 % and 7 %?
With the “eat in” / “takeaway” toggle above the basket. It applies to the whole sale and takes the rate from the tax category stored on the item. If that category is missing, the rate saved on the item stays and “takeaway” changes nothing for it — which is why the register reports how many items lack one and links you to the filtered list.
Can a guest pay part in cash and part by card?
Yes. With a split payment you enter the cash amount the guest puts on the counter; the remainder goes on the card. The cash part is fixed because it is in the drawer — the card part is the remainder, because only the terminal confirms what actually goes through. Both appear as separate lines on the receipt and in your reports.
How does a reversal work?
You open the recent receipts, pick the sale and reverse it. A second receipt is created with the signs turned around; it sits next to the original in the list and can be reprinted, while the original stays untouched. § 146a AO requires exactly this: recorded transactions may not be changed or deleted afterwards. In any total the two cancel each other out.
