Self-order terminal — guests order for themselves
A self-order terminal is meant to shorten waiting times at the counter and take the load off your staff. This module is in preparation and not yet bookable. What already works today: QR ordering at the table. Your guests scan, see your menu, and order on their own phone, paying with your staff.
A self-order terminal is a self-service kiosk where guests place their own order without waiting for a member of staff. At GastroSystem the terminal is in preparation. Self-service from the guest's own phone — QR ordering at the table — is already available.
What is planned
The terminal is meant to run on an ordinary tablet, show the same menu as your online shop and your till, and write its orders into the same order board — no second article list, no second set of prices to maintain. We will name a date once we have one.
What already works: QR ordering at the table
Your guests scan the QR code on the table, order in several rounds and ask for the bill or for service through the same window. Staff no longer take the order, they only bring it and settle it. That is available today.
Card payment at the till
You accept cards through Stripe or Mollie — with a paired card reader, or through the girocard terminal you already have from your bank; the till keeps that turnover separate from cash. Whatever applies to the till is meant to apply to the terminal later.
Receipts and the fiscal module are already solved
GastroSystem prints receipts on Epson TM-series printers over LAN, Bluetooth or USB. Every till transaction is signed by the fiskaly cloud TSE under § 146a AO, and the DSFinV-K export and the DATEV booking batch are ready. A terminal does not have to rebuild that chain, it hooks into it.
Frequently asked questions about the self-order terminal
Can I book the self-order terminal today?
No. The terminal is in preparation and not yet bookable. We'll name a date only once it's set. Write to us if you want to be notified.
How do my guests order themselves until then?
Via QR code at the table. Your guest scans, orders in the browser on their own phone, no app and no account, and orders more rounds as often as they like. Every round lands at the right table. Payment is taken by your team.
And at the counter or for pickup?
There you use the till or your online shop. Both read the same menu as QR ordering and write into the same order overview.
Will I need special hardware for the terminal later?
That hasn't been decided yet. The plan is for the terminal to use the same menu and the same order overview as everything else. No second menu for you to maintain.
